ESP's EC200 is a top quality LP style guitar, featuring a flame Maple top, black Nickle hardware and high powered pickups.
A quality players guitar, with a superb neck and fretboard, fine appearance and attention to detail in construction. Suitable for pretty much any type of music, but the ESP pickups are specially made for higher gain situations.
The small headstock has a curvy top, setting itself aside from similar LP style guitars, the front has the same quilted Maple finish as the body, with a white 'Ltd' logo shining out.
the 3-a-side black Nickle tuners are ESP branded, the same used on the entire Ltd range, they work very well. The rear of the headstock is gloss black, with the serial number, ESP logo and a picture telling you not to put the guitar in a dustbin. Very useful.
The Mahogany neck has a black gloss finish to the rear, and has a fast and comfortable thin contour. The Rosewood fingerboard is fully bound in a white plastic and has small green Abolone position markers. The 12th fret position is marked by a large Abolone block, displaying the model name.
The fretwork on these Indonesian made ESP's is absolutely fantastic, all are a joy to play with high quality Rosewood used and immaculately polished frets that goes against their entry level price tags.
The single cutaway Agathis body joins the set neck at the 16th fret on the bass side, and the 20th on the treble side. Here the cutaway has some extra chamfering giving better access to all 24 frets (not a normal Les Paul this one!).
The body itself is thick and heavy, giving great resonance when played. A large bit of chamfering on the back of the upper bout gives a comfertable playing position when played standing or sitting.
The back of the body is plain gloss black, whilst the front features an attractive quilted Maple top, is unbound to the front and rear, and finished in a cool black it realy does look the part.
The EMG pickups are clearly designed to look like the famous EMG's used on their more expensive guitars, but these are every bit as good, with a large tonal range, and in combination with the coil tap, can give some great jingly jangle pop tones. But they come into their own on a high gain setting, with loads of power, grunt and sustain that will please any metal gods out there.
The bridge, tailpiece and controls are all finished in black Nickle, the master tone control having the pull/push coil tap.
All in all a real alternative to bigger branded Les Paul's, especially if you're after more of a rock guitar, this one has it all, great sound, quality hardware and is a real nice guitar to jam on, come into our shop and try one today!
