Modern metal looks with quality hardware and pickups bring this classic ESP guitar to the front of the stage with loads of presence and poise.
The ESP F-250 features a double locking tremolo system, coil tap and lightning fretboard markers, all combining to create a great rock guitar.
The gloss black headstock has 2 rows of 3-a-side tuners, ESP branded and finished in black chrome. The headstock tapers away to a point on the treble side, and the 'ltd' logo features in white at the top. The rear of the headstock is also black gloss, with the serial number and other information stamped on.
The front also has a large string tree, keeping pressure even across all 6 strings, before thet pass through the locking top nut, which is also in black chrome.
The 24 fret neck is unbound, with a gloss black paint job on the back. The neck is really very thin, great if you either have small hands, or want to make light work of fast runs up and down the fingerboard.
Immaculate fretwork as ever on the ESP guitars, and a beautiful Rosewood fingerboard that is super slippery, making the F250 a great players guitar. The lightning position markers are an instantly noticable feature, pointing towards the player, they get gradually shallower towards the body, where the frets are smaller! A nice touch.
The neck joins the body at the 19th fret on the bass side and the 22nd on the treble. Both cutaways are chamfered away, further improving upper fret access and reducing body weight.
The black gloss body of the F Series has a totally unique shape, almost teardrop, with knobbly bits hear and there and aggressive upper and lower horns. The upper horn has a black chrome straphook, and, giving its size, aids the overall balance of the guitar.
The body is carved away around the upper and lower sides, both to the front and back, giving a surprisingly comfortable playing position. The bottom straphook is on the edge of the body, directly underneath the bridge, with the jack socket on the other side of the point there, nearer the tone control.
The F250 has 2 EMG 301 humbuckers, with a matt black plastic top and black surrounds. Very hot they are too, ESP's version of the EMG's used on their more pricy models, they have a big vocal range, and with the coil tap, this guitar can produce bright, cheerful tones, as well as heavy, distorted rock and metal (this guitar is great when detuned).
The black chrome locking bridge is ESP's own design, with a nice chunky trem arm and heavy action, you can really abuse it and not affect tuning stability at all! Just what a great rock 'n' roll machine should be.
All in all, a unique looking, great playing and superb sounding metaller that'll give you a surprisingly broad tonal range.
