Valencia Folk Guitar

Available in 2 sizes, the Valencia Folk would make an excellent starter acoustic guitar, especially for younger players, offering the bright sound of steel strings and the narrower folk sized acoustic body.
The guitar has a creamy coloured spruce top, contrasted by rich brown Whitewood for the back and sides. A plastic trim runs around the face of the guitar, with decorative rings surrounding the soundhole. The back of the guitar also features a cream binding.
The Valencia Folk is a nicely constructed guitar, with reliable components including the sealed chrome tuners at the headstock. These lie in a three-a-side formation and have large turning posts that allow for accurate tuning adjustments. The headstock is of the same rich brown colour as the back and sides, bearing the Valencia logo in silver italic font.
The strings run securely through an accurately cut top nut at the top of the fretboard, and this gives a comfortably narrow action down the neck. The smaller distance between the strings and the fretboard make the Valencia a great beginners guitar, for those training their fingers.
At the other end the strings are held securely in place in the Rosewood bridge by six white dotted bridge pins.
The Ebonised fingerboard is inlayed with silvery dot inlays to indicate fret number, and a cream binding runs around the edge of the fretboard. The neck joins the body at the 14th fret, and the fingerboard continues across the body of the guitar allowing much higher notes to be played if necessary.
The Valencia has the traditional looks of an acoustic guitar, and the curved black scratchplate contrasts strikingly with the pale Spruce top of the guitar. The narrower body gives a sweeter tone than its larger cousin, the dreadnaught, but there is still a good deal of volume for heavy strumming!
The easy playability of the Valencia is complemented by its sweet and lively sound. The slender action makes easy work of both open and barre chords, and the smooth fretwork means you wont wear your fingers out to quickly by note bending either.
The full sized model would be fine for adults and children over 11, and is a popular choice amongst female guitarists. For younger kids, the half and three quarter sized models should give them more of a reach around the fretboard.
