Fans of Metallica and Megadeth will recognise the Dave Mustain Signature by Dean. In an all over Metallic Silver finish, Shark Tooth neck inlays and Seymour Duncan Live Wire pickups, this guitar looks and plays up to the reputation.
The smooth edged, angular headstock is plain silver to the rear, with the guitars serial number and 6 in line black Grover Machine Heads. The front of the headstock is gloss black, with Dave Mustain's signature and the Dean 'Wings' logo in white.
The back of the head to neck join has a large volute, giving extra reinforcement to this join.
The neck of this guitar is seriously slim, almost flat! Finished in metallic silver to the back, with a superb Ebony fingerboard, fully bound in cream celluloid. The fretwork is immaculate, as you'd expect, with a slippery fingerboard just right for fast solo's and plenty of string bending. The 24 fret Ebony fingerboard has Signature Pearloid Shark Tooth inlays, with small dots to boot.
The neck is set, with a small and smooth neck join, which has a Jim Dunlop Straplok in black on the back, the other straphook is on the inside of the upper point, and this is a large Straplok as well.
The Metallic Silver Mahogany body joins the neck at the 20th fret on both sides, and although this model has 24 frets, access to the top 2 are a little awkward. The body edges are chamfered, with a dangerous looking point on the top and bottom between the 2 pickups, giving an extra aggressive, flying edge!
The Dave Mustain Signature has a string through body bridge, a large gloss black V shaped plate protecting the body as they pass though. The Tone Pros bridge is also Black, and the 3 control knobs and pickup selector switch are all in black Chrome.
The pickups on this guitar are Seymour Duncan Dave Mustain Live Wires, his Signature pickup. Very hot they are too, designed for very high gain settings, giving lots of sustain to solo's and grunt to rhythm work.
Fully set-up by Dean in the UK prior to dispatch, the light strings have a low action, about 2mm at the 12th fret.

Coming complete with a custom built Dean hardcase, a weighty but quality, to fully protect this instrument when not being shredded, this guitar gives great value for money and for any fan, you've just got to have it!
