Digitech have unleashed the power of their new generation in modelling technology to bring you the new RP multi effects pedals. Incorporating the worlds most advanced effects processors yet, this tone-engine gives the new RP models enhanced raw impact and subtle detail that must be heard to be believed!
The advantages of the RP150 are the easy access tone and effects libraries. It’s a quick, three-step process (model, effect, level) to choose any sound. It couldn’t be simpler to find your perfect tone and get playing straight away. 77 next generation models powered by Digitech’s new AudioDNA2 DSP super-chip give you a huge diversity of sounds to choose from. Select your favourite clean/overdrive setting using the models based on world-renowned amps. Then give your sound that extra touch of authenticity by combining this with a speaker cabinet simulation. You can blend up to 11 effects at a time including models based on classic stompboxes.
The RP150 also lets you customise your tone by adjusting parameters for each effect, clearly displayed on the front panel of the unit. This matrix-style scheme makes it very easy to edit; you just move up and down the effect rows with the triangular edit switches on the bottom left. Then you turn the appropriate knob in the effect column to adjust the sound. You can save up to 50 of your own settings, and flick between them as you play by treading on the foot switches.
The inbuilt drum machine means you no longer have to practise to a monotonous click track – choose from over 60 patterns and adjust the drum kit and tempo instantly from the front panel of the pedal. Anyone listening would be forgiven for thinking you have a whole band stashed away in your bedroom!
The built in chromatic tuner is instantly accessible via pressing both buttons at once, and this cuts off sound to the amp to eliminate unwanted tuning up tones – especially useful if you’re planning on taking the RP150 on stage with you.
The RP150 has a versatile range of outputs making it useful in both practice, live or recording situations. In addition to playing through your bedroom amp, you can hook up two amps to make use of the stereo effects, and also link the pedal directly to a mixer and run it through a stereo. With a built in 24-bit USB interface, you can link the pedal to multi track software on your PC or Mac, and also playback MP3s through the pedal to jam along to them. You can download a free copy of x-edit from www.digitech.com and customize presets using the multi function display panel showing the drop-down menus for the amp models. This lets you see all your choices at once, rather than having to scroll through them. There’s also a headphone output so you don’t even have to plug into an amp, especially useful for late night playing.
