Top - Solid Red Cedar Body - Mahogany Neck - Mahogany Fingerboard - Rosewood Scale - 650mm Machines - Chrome, Ellipse Pearlized knobs Bridge - Rosewood
Valencia intermediate level classical guitars offer a high standard of construction and design using a traditional fan strutting.
They have established a good reputation with many guitar teachers and their students, and this fine classical guitar is a very good example of what an entry level instrument can be.
With a solid Red Cedar top and Mahogany body, the sounds produced are really good, plenty of volume and clarity across the range.
The guitar has the traditional slotted headstock, made of Mahogany, with Valencia's stylish 'V' logo in gold. The tuners are good quality, with white pearloid knobs and seem to hold the pitch pretty well.
The neck is Mahogany as well, with a very glossy finish, and a Rosewood fingerboard nicely bound in black. The fretwork has some small amounts of glue residue left over, but nothing that will hinder playing at all.
The body is of a very nice appearance, the Red Cedar top is solid, which clearly aids the tonal response, but also looks lovely, with a tight grain and very dark appearance. Very smart. The soundhole also has a posh rozette, not too sure if it's genuine wood mosaic or a transer though!
The body is nicely bound, 5 ply in black, setting off the dark, Mahogany back and sides. The back is similarly bound, with a 3 ply centre line and well bookmatched woods used.
A nice example of what a sub £100 classical guitar can be like, good quality construction and sounds, nicely finished and pretty good to play.
