The classic rock shape of ESP's M Series have won a raft of admirers over the years, similar to the Ibanez RG range and Jackson's Dinky but a fair bit more affordable!
The sharp, pointed headstock sets the guitar off nicely, with 6 in line black Nickel ESP tuners. A glossy black finish and the white and gold 3D 'LTD' logo giving a nice look to the front, whilst the rear is plain unvarnished Maple. A large black nickel string tree keeps all 6 strings under pressure before passing through the locking top nut.
The neck is Maple, with a smooth satin finish. The super smooth Rosewood fingerboard has small dot position markers, and ESP's 12th fret block marker displaying the model name. The fretwork is excellent, with a slim neck aiding fast runs up and down the neck.
The neck is bolted onto the Basswood body, with a nicely chamfered joint, helping access to the upper frets, all 24 of them. The body has a thick lacquered black paint job, plenty of rock here, with a nicely carved arch top. It's a fairly thick chunk of wood, making the guitar a bit heavy, but the resonance is helped by this.
The guitar has 2 ESP LH-150 open coil humbuckers, with black pickup surrounds, giving plenty of power when played on your overdrive channel. The black nickel ESP licenced Floyd Rose bridge is top quality, a really nice looking bit of kit that performs excellently. It can take plenty of abuse without affecting the tuning, beleive me, I tried my best!
A single volume and tone control, and 3 way pickup selector provide the simple tonal controls.
A top quality rock strat with a great finish, double locking tremolo system and stunning looks for under £250.
