If you're into your rock music, and are after a decent guitar package with the looks and style to match, then the ESP F-10 pack is just what you're after.
The F Series guitar is a great looking metal guitar, with plenty of points and knobbly bits, and a chamfered bevelled top, giving plenty of poise and attitude. Finished in an all over gloss black with cool black chrome hardware, you'd expect to pay £200 for the guitar alone, but here you get an amp and accessories and loads of change as well!
The smart asymetrical headstock is natural Maple to the back, with the 3-a-side ESP branded tuners in black chrome slightly offset and tapering towards the end of the head. A gloss black paint job is on the front, with a silver 'ltd' logo shining out.
The neck has a natural Maple finish to the rear, which feels good and smooth, quality stuff. The 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard is unbound, with a nice tight grain and very neat fretwork, making the fingerboard feel very quick and slippery. The frets are extra jumbo sized, making it a very forgiving player!
Small white dots mark the usual fretboard positions, with ESP's traditional Abolone 12th fret block marker, displaying the guitars model number.
The neck is bolted onto the body by 4 recessed black bolts, joining the body at the 19 fret on the bass side, and the 23rd, yes, 23rd, fret on the treble side. Clearly a guitar built for screaming solo's.
The body is a big double cutaway, the knurly upper bout has a straphook at the tip and is nicely chamfered at the back giving a comfortable playing position. The lower bout is also chamfered away, giving really access to to top end of the fingerboard. The overall look is of a knobbled teardrop shape, with the lower straphook dead centre at the bottom, and the output jack underneath the control knobs.
The pickups are pretty cool, at the bridge you have a traditional open coil humbucker giving nice clear tones for solo's with plenty of treble. It is also great for rhythm work, turn up the drive setting and powerchords sound clean and punchy with lots of attack.
At the neck, ESP have put in a bladed humbucker. The size of a single coil, but loads more power. This pickup is perfect for realy dirty rhythm work, particularly in detuned settings, and gives a real grunt to to sounds.
The ESP 10 electric guitar amplifier is small and compact, but the 6" speaker certainly packs enough punch to fill any bedroom! It looks geat too, with a large ESP logo on the front and neat control panel with a 3 band EQ, wild overdrive setting, master volume, input socket and headphone socket.
Also included is a black padded ESP guitar bag with side handles, a single shoulder strap and large packet on the front, an ESP branded black nylon guitar strap, digital guitar/bass tuner and a decent quality 10' guitar cable. All of this comes in a very flashy box!
