Strap buttons come in all different shapes, sizes and prices. Some cheap, some expensive. With more expensive locking strap buttons you can expect to receive flawless security and durability; a brand like Schaller may be suitable for this type of strap-lock.

For the gigging musician strap locks are highly recommended as guitars are prone to let go of their straps, consequently causing damage!

With cheaper strap lock solutions you can still achieve straplock type qualities but for a cheaper price, however, the degree of security and durability is not as high and the guitar would not be as safe as it possibly could be. These types of strap lock solutions would be great for home use.

Most of the strap button products that we have for sale require the old ones to be removed and the new ones to be screwed into the existing screw holes.

If you find that your original screw hole is too big for the new screw of the new strap button, don't worry, this is quite normal and the hole will need to be packed to receive the new screw. To pack the hole, simply take a match, break off the lighting tip. Put the match into the screwhole to check its fit. If it is too long, simply snap the match to the correct length. If it is too wide you should be able to split the match using your finger nail. Put a little wood glue on the match and slide it into the hole. Screw in the new strap button and leave for 24 hours for the wood glue to set.
