The affordable OM-1GT Orchestra model is constructed with a polished gloss Sitka Spruce top and bookmatched Sapele back and sides.

The OM-1GT creates the legendary rich and commanding Martin sound that has defined the acoustic guitar for generations.

From Martin Guitars American made 1/Road Series, this 000 sized folk guitar plays and sounds amazing.

The headstock is thin and square, with a satin finished Indian Rosewood veneer to the front with thin black binding, and Martins very familiar logo in gold script running across the top.

The back of the headstock, and the length of the neck, is a satin finished Stratabond, a laminated material that shows off a wonderful wood grain, here finished in 'Rust', so a fairly light brown colour. The 6 machine heads are Martin branded, die cast, enclosed, and finished in a shiny Chrome with small buttons.

The satin neck is very slim, a shallow D profile that Martin call a 'modified low oval', it's very easy playing and should not prove difficult for hands of any size.

The fingerboard is made of Richlite, another man made material from Martin, very dark and hard, it's clearly their version of Ebony, and I would say it's probably as good as. We have large white dot position inlays, and small dots in the usual places on the edge of the fingerboard.

Whilst on the subject of the fingerboard edges, Martin made them very square and sharp, with perfect frets, this makes for a very special feel of the whole neck whilst playing.

So, the neck has 14 frets, and you're not going any higher than that.

The body of the OM-1GT is made of solid Sapele, with black binding. The heel cap at the bottom of the neck joint is also black, a material called Black Boltaron (sounds like some Sci Fi character from the 60's).

The top is solid Sitka Spruce, beautifully bookmatched with excellent stripes of light and dark golden wood grain. The top has a 'modified hybrid X scalloped' bracing pattern and 5/16" solid Sitka Spruce braces.

Finishing off the OM1 we have a small teardrop shaped black scratchplate, square Richlite bridge and white bridge and end pins.

Playing the Martin OM-1GT is a real joy, the smaller 000 sized folk body shape is more comfortable than a dreadnought, and the neck feels beautiful to hold. The fingerboard is amazingly smooth, making movement effortless.

Sounds are quite deep and resonant, plenty of sustain on offer. Strummed chords have lots of body and volume, picked notes ring with clarity and chime. A very impressive all round sound.

An excellent mid priced 000 sized non electro from Martin. American made, all solid woods, Sapele and Sitka Spruce, with a lovely natural sound, a very versatile acoustic guitar that will cover most bases.

In addition to this we want to ensure that no harm can come to your guitar on the journey between us and you and so we have a rigorous packing procedure involving multiple protective layers. If you notice that this packaging is damaged when delivered by our courier, it is important to check the goods and if damaged, refuse the delivery and call us immediately.
