This classic all metal bodied Resonator from Ozark has all the looks, sounds and class you'd expect from a quality instrument.
Korean made, it features chrome tuners, a Mahogany neck, a single cone biscuit resonator (in the National style), and a super smooth and shiney body and a sound like no other.
The small and compact headstock has ablack face, with Ozark's signature logo in green Abolone. The front also has a Chrome truss rod cover. The rear of the headstock is Mahogany, with a gloss finish showing off a specled grain. The Machine heads are Grover style, Chrome, all enclosed with large buttons.
The Mahogany neck has the same speckled, glossy finish, it's quite slim, with a D profile. Nut width here is 43mm.
The fretboard on this Resonator is a very dark Ebony, with white position markers, beware these though, a single marker at the 12th, and doubles at the 15th and 19th - very strange!
The neck is, of course, set in, joining at the 14th fret, standard dreadnaught stuff. The top, edges and back are all Nickel plated Steel, superbly made as well, with no apparant joins or seams. It's all very shiney and clean, giving that classic Resonator look and vibe. Unfortunately, it all weights a fair bit, just over 4kg.
The single Resonator itself has it's convex surface uppermost, with 9 perforated diamond shaped soundhole areas. In the middle, at the cones apex is the biscuit, supporting a small wooden bridge, all covered by a Chrome plate.
At the top of the body, we have 2 symetrical 'f' holes, and at the botton, the Chrome tailpiece also houses the strap button.
Sounds are spectacularly bright and metallic, loads of sparkly jangle, ringing sustain and charming character. These guitars are great for many musical styles, clearly slide springs to mind, but all bluegrass, country and blues, rock 'n' roll even are all well represented by Resonators.
Always loved the look of these beauties, and loving the unusual sound now. Recommended
