  • Sundance Pro TW15 Acoustic Guitar - Natural

The Sundance Pro Range of acoustic guitars from Tanglewood represents their most popular instruments, and the TW15 is the classic, standard Dreadnaught in the range.

With an all solid wood body, Spruce top and African Mahogany back and sides, a one piece neck, bone nut and saddle and fitted with Elixir strings, this left handed model is designed for top quality tonal response, ideal for performing and recording.

The square headstock is a simple affair, satin finished Mahogany, the front has Tanglewoods logo in beautiful green and purple Abolone. The rear has a lighter grain, with 2 rows of 3-a-side Grover Rotomatic machine heads in Chrome, top of the range hardware here.

The back of the headstock has a diamond shaped volute where it leads into the neck, adding extra rigidity to this crucial part of the guitar.

The neck of the TW15 is really pretty slim, a very easy going D profile that feels good in the hand. It has a satin finish that makes for easy chord changed and sliding up and down neck with barre chords. The bone top nut width is 43mm, and the neck tapers to reach 52mm at the 12th fret, and string spacing at the bone saddle is also 52mm.

The Rosewood fingerboard is fully bound in bright white plastic. Fretwork is of a high standard, no rough edges to report and the grain itself is very tight and dark, should play in beautifully! Tanglewood like their Abolone, and the TW15 has it used on the position markers, this time diamonds, 2 on the 12th.

The body of the TW15 is solid African Mahogany, with a smooth satin finish and lovely light grain. Both the front and back are fully bound in white plastic, the front being 5 ply white and black. All tidy stuff.

The top is solid American Spruce, this has a very light colour, and the satin natural finish shows the tightly grained wood off to it's best, very thin dark lines running the entire length of the body.

The front has a large red tortoishell (plastic) scratchplate, and a simple soundhole rosette, 3 black and white striped lines, very effective, no over the top decorations on this model. The bridge is Rosewood, and the saddle bone, aiding the already excellent sound qualities.

The sounds are very pleasing, bright and charmful, with loads of clarity across the range. The large body and solid woods really make the soundboard vibrate to its maximum, so there is plenty of volume and bottom end. The Elixir strings Tangelwood fit onto Sundance Pro guitars are of the highest quality and it all adds up to a professional quality guitar.

With the best tone woods and components in it's price range, this left handed Tanglewood TW15 is a high performing dreadnaught.
