Classical Guitars (sometimes called Spanish guitars) are acoustic guitars but have nylon strings as apposed to steel on their acoustic cousins. They have a softer tone and not as loud and harsh as their steel strung cousins.
Due to the strings being nylon based, there is less tension in the strings which makes them easier to play, especially for children and beginners and with the wider neck, they give more room for fingering mistakes.
