The Squier Tele Custom II electric guitar is a super-affordable temple of tone with some tasty Tele tweaks that include a pair of blistering Duncan Designed P-90 pickups with independent tone and volume controls.

The Agathis body snugs up to an all Maple neck and fingerboard with dot inlays, medium-jumbo frets and a 25-1/2" scale.

The Vintage Mod Tele Custon II has that classic Telecaster headstock, narrow and slim, finished in plain satin Maple, with the Squier by Fender logo on the front and Telecaster Custom in black print.

The front has a truss rod recess, neatly protected by black plastic, and 2 chrome string trees keeping pressure on the treble strings.

The rear of the headstock has a row of 6 in line Chrome enclosed die-cast machine heads, the Fender logo and serial number.

The neck is slim and rounded, a C profile, the back has Fenders familiar 'skunk stripe' where the factory has inserted the truss rod. The finish is satin Maple again.

It's a one piece Maple neck and fingerboard, and this also has a smooth satin finish, no gloss lacquer here. There are 22 medium jumbo frets and large black dot position markers.

Fretwork and finishing on the neck is all to a good high standard, Fender seem to be pretty fussy about their Squier brand. All makes for a nice playing guitar.

The neck joins the Agathis body at the 17th fret on the bass side, and 21st fret on the treble side, so upper fret access is no problem.

The body is all black, the back is plain apart from a 4 bolt Chrome Squier branded neck plate and 6 holes for the string thru body method.

The front of the Custom P90 has a large 3 ply, black white black, scratchplate that extends from the upper bout where the 3 way pickup selector switch is, across the entire are between neck and bridge, and down to the 4 control knobs.

These are retro looking black knobs with silver plates on top saying if you've got a tone or volume at your fingers, and a lower flange numbered 1 - 10.

The Chrome bridge is fairly simple, small and compact, not a standard Tele bridge, with 6 individual saddles, all adjustable for intonation and string height purposes.

The pickups are, of course, a pair of Duncan Designed P90's, very hot and powerful single coils. The Custom P90 excels on the dirty channel, grungy, punky rhythm work sounds amazing, screaming solo's will cut right through.

On the clean channel too, brightness and clarity are abundant, with a cutting edge to everything this guitar does.

A great looking guitar, the Squier Telecaster Custom II is very much in fashion, with a nice neck and powerful pickups, this guitar is meant to rock!
