Here we have the Yamaha APX700II left handed Electro Acoustic Guitar finished in a classic glossy Natural. This guitar packs a load of great features in to make it great value, great sounding and gorgeous looking! With the option to hook it up to an acoustic guitar amplifier or a PA system it's the ideal acoustic for at home, in the studio and live. The small bodied left handed design makes it very comfortable and great to play all night long!
Starting with the top we have Solid Spruce that is finished in a the simple gloss natural. The solid top maximizes resonance for that beautiful singing Yamaha acoustic sound. The back and sides are made from Nato and are fully bound with lovely cream binding. The sound hole has an attractive design around it which just adds to the sleek look of the Yamaha APX700II Left Handed Electro Acoustic.
The Yamaha APX's neck is also made from Nato and has a smooth satin finish aiding great playability for quick movement up and down. The fingerboard is made from Rosewood and holds 22 frets which are marked by white pearl dot inlays. The scale length here is 25.6" (650mm). The nut width is 43mm. The factory set action sits at around 4mm above the fingerboard across all 6 strings at the 12th fret giving good playability. There is room for adjustment if you so with though.
The headstock has a deep gloss finish with cream binding around the sides. The 'YAMAHA' logo sits at the top in white pearl and just below is a lovely swirly pearl pattern. Either side of the headstock are 3 chrome tuning machines. No tuning issues on this guitar, it sticks in tune well making it a great for live performances.
Moving down to the bottom reveals a Rosewood bridge with black with white dot bridge pins. String spacing at the bridge (E-e) is 56mm.
Taking a look at the electronics of this left handed Yamaha APX700 shows the System64 1way A.R.T pickup system. The controls we have here are: Volume, Tuner Display, Tuner On/Off, Low, Mid, High and AMF. The AMF slider control allows huge tonal variation as it sets the centre frequency of the band of frequencies affected by the MID EQ rotary control. The range is 80HZ to 10kHz allowing loads of possible mid tones. A great pickup system that's not to be underrated, the ART system faithfully recreates the natural tone and dynamics produced by the guitar allowing the character to always shine through.
Acoustically the tone isn't too boomy, not a huge amount of bass end allowing for that crisp, clear tone that you would expect from a guitar of this size.
Overall, this is a fantastic Yamaha APX700II Electro Left Handed Acoustic Guitar that is ideal for anyone wanting a compact cutaway acoustic that can be plugged in for use at home or at gigs. The quality is brilliant and it will easily do you proud at a gig. Why not drop into Guitarbitz Guitar Shop and give one a try?
