Really nice and remarkably clean 1976 Gibson Howard Roberts Custom in wine red with chrome hardware. A superb and very versatile jazz guitar with an interesting array of specs making for a great amplified electric guitar as well as a nice well projecting acoustic instrument.

The guitar its self is in great condition for its age with no breaks, cracks or repairs and all original parts including an original Gibson floating humbucker, Gibson Deluxe sealed tuners and an awesome Epiphone inspired vine inlay headstock. This model also features a 25.5" scale which is unusual for a Gibson guitar. The Epiphone inspiration also continues onto the fingerboard with the split block inlays borrowed from the Epiphone Spartan model. A few interesting collection of features that make for a super interesting Gibson guitar.

Condition wise the guitar is very clean for its age, with the only obvious marks being the areas of worn finish to the back of the neck showing the maple underneath. This is purely cosmetic and can not be felt, the whole neck is really nice and smooth with no areas of different feeling finish. Though the guitar has clearly been played a lot it shows pretty no other signs of wear with the original frets showing only the tiniest amount of wear in the cowboy chord area. The original knobs, bridge and tailpiece are also present and in great condition showing sone lovely patina.

The guitar has been setup with a really nice low action with some 11 flatwounds and it plays and sounds fabulous with a nice rich crisp tone, with plenty of sonic options utilising the separate treble and bass EQ control knobs.

The guitar comes with a newer early 2000's Gibson ES175 case which is obviously not original to the guitar but fits it perfectly having the same body shape and is a much more solid option that its original.

As with all preowned instruments this guitar comes with a 6 month warranty is ready to go. One of the most fantastic Gibson Jazz guitars we have ever had with just the right amount of ageing and clearly very well cared for, grab this beauty today!
