A fantastic and ultra clean example of a Gibson ES355 from 1981. Packed with awesome early '80s specs this is a great example of a Gibson semi-hollow and is in incredible condition for its age and complete with an equally clean original hard case and original manual and tag.
The guitar has been well looked after by its original owner who has had it from new and it shows. The guitar remains all original bar a very high quality jumbo re-fret which feels fantastic and a couple of minor electrical tweaks that include a master coil split push pull pot to the neck volume control and conversion from a stereo to mono output jack which is very common on these stereo ES guitars.
The early '80s Gibsons features some really cool specs of which this guitar retains as original including a superb sounding set of Tim Shaw humbuckers, Flip out crank winding tuners and diamond posi-lock strap buttons. These parts are all super high end features that are very valuable in themselves, super cool! The guitar also features a factory original TP-6 tailpiece which is also a cool detail and factory original to the guitar.
The finish on the guitar is all original the there are no touchups, breaks, cracks or repairs and the finish shows no signs of wear, checking or real ageing, very very clean. The 3 piece maple neck with ebony board and block inlays feels awesome and very comfy under the hand, and the jumbo frets make for super easy playing and bending with a lovely low action.
The guitar is a great weight at 9lb 6oz and feels very comfortable to play and very balanced, a great feeling guitar all round and a super clean example.
