1983 Gibson Les Paul Custom - Black With Ebony Fingerboard - Preowned

An awesome and iconic piece from the early '80s era of Gibson, an iconic ebony Les Paul Custom in great all round original condition. The guitar is in fantastic shape and has come to us with only one changed part which is the addition of some Schaller strap lock buttons. The frets are original and have great life in there with only a tiny bit of wear in the cowboy chord area of the fingerboard. 

This guitar has some awesome features that are exclusive to the early 1980's production era of Gibson including the flip out crank winding machine heads, three point adjustment bridge and all important Tim Shaw PAF pickups that sound absolutely fantastic with all of the crisp crunchy tones you could ever want. The pickups and electronics are all original, and untouched though it may appear the covers have been removed and put back on at some point but it is very hard to confirm this. All in all a fantastic sounding guitar with some of the most incredible rock tones we have ever had from a Gibson. 

The finish across the whole guitar is in great shape for is age the lacquer has yellowed beautifully across the guitar giving it a super vintage vibe. The back of the instrument does show some buckle worming but nothing that has broken through the ebony finish. There are also 2 dings to mention on the back of the neck as photographed, these look a lot worse than they feel but are really the only significant marks on the guitar to speak off over the the back!  

The guitar has had a full setup in our workshop and plays absolutely flawlessly with a nice low action and no choking across the board and nice clear notes all over. The guitar comes complete with its original chainsaw case which features a nice mocha lining which is less common than other variants. The case is in great shape inside and outside with the logo plate still intact but does have one latch missing. 

A great rock 'n' roll guitar that oozes mojo and has so many classic tones. The guitar comes in at a decent 11lbs which on paper sounds very heavy but seated or stood the guitar feels super comfortable to play and feels really nice and solid. 

This is a beautiful vintage guitar and an iconic Gibson. As with all used instruments this guitar comes with a 6 month warranty and is ready to go!
