1962 Silvertone 1423 Jupiter - Fully Restored - Metallic Black - OHSC - Preowned

1962 Silvertone 1423 Jupiter in metallic black with full overhaul and restoration! A super cool little vintage guitar that has had some serious work put into it with some nice details and unique features.

The guitar has been refinished in a lovely aged metallic finish that has been very well aged with some beautiful checkin across the whole guitar. The headstock benefits from a new facia and vintage style Silvertone logo that really looks the part along with a brand new set of machine heads. The guitar has also had a full stainless steel refret with vintage tall wire as well as a bone nut. The bridge has been changed to a Gretsch bow tie bridge and really looks the part. The guitar is incredibly lightweight and a very comfy guitar to gig with.

The electronics on the guitar are super interesting and again done to a really high spec. The pickups are handmade staple mini humbuckers made by Sean at Old Bones Pickups. These are connected to a new wiring harness that includes a Rat pedal built into the new custom control panel. The guitar features a 3-way pickup selector, master volume and master tone. The Push/Push control on the volume knob activates the tap with down being modern 7.5k output and up being vintage 3.5k output. The push/push on the tone knob activates the rat pedal, with the 3 smaller knobs controlling the Rat output with Distortion, Filter and Volume. As you can imagine, many tones are achievable! 

All in all a really nicely overhauled vintage guitar that looks the part but has the playability and durability of a modern instrument. The guitar comes complete with its original case too and is really to go with a full workshop setup and appraisal.
