1978 Fender American Telecaster - Sunburst - Preowned

1978 Fender American Telecaster in Sunburst with hardshell case in good all round condition. A vintage classic from icon era of CBS Fender, this is a nice example that has all of the specs and character that you would expect from a late '70s Fender. 

The guitar is in great condition for its age, there are a few marks through out and a couple of small dings on the neck though nothing excessive for a guitar of this age. The guitar retains all of its original hardware including machine heads, bridge, control plate, jack and string trees. The frets are all original and though of the low and wide spec, show minimal wear and are very very playable. 

The guitar comes with replaced electronics including a new wiring loom and mix of hand wound/bare knuckle pickups that suit the guitar well and sound great whilst retaining a vintage and classic Tele tone. 

The guitar comes in at a healthy 9lb 10oz which given the notorious nature of these being boat anchors, isn't too bad at all! It plays nicely and feels well balanced to sit down and play sat down or stood up and plays really nicely with a good slinky action and no choking or buzzing up and down the board. 

The guitar comes with an older Californian made 'poodle' style case from the 1960's that is very cool and its the guitar well in both fit and vibe! A nice little addition. As well as this the guitar does also come with its original pickups and wiring harness, which though at current point are non functioning, could be restored/rewound if the next owner wished to restore the guitar back to 100% originality. 

All in all an awesome vintage guitar that won't break the bank like some of its earlier counterparts but offers all the same character and mojo.
