1978 Gibson 'The Paul' with Protector Case - Preowned

1978 Gibson 'The Paul' in Walnut with DiMarzio pickups and original Gibson Protector Case. An absolutely awesome bare bones workhorse Gibson with some incredible specs and great vintage charm. 

Originally introduces as a much more affordable Les Paul alternative in the late 70's these Walnut series guitars pack some incredible punch by todays standards with a solid and beautifully figured solid walnut construction, 3 piece neck and ebony fingerboard. The guitar also retains its original Grover machine heads, aged speed knobs and bridge and tailpiece. 

The guitar is in great condition with the exception of one area of scratching to the back of the instrument, the plastic is still even on the back plate! The truss rod is smooth and has loads of movement in either direction and the frets though low and wide as they would have been new show minimal wear for the age. 

The guitar has a few modifications including a set of DiMarzio humbuckers, looking likely to be the Super Distortion model, as well as a pair of push/pull tone pots which offer a really great array of coil split tones. 

The guitar comes in at a healthy 9lb 3oz and comes complete with its original protector case which is in remarkable condition and even contains its original warranty card! 

All in all an awesome vintage Gibson that punches well above its weight, this series along with the Firebrand and other similar Gibson instruments are seriously underrated! As with all used instruments here at Guitarbitz this guitar comes with a full workshop setup and appraisal and is ready to go with 6 months warranty!
