Empress Effects presents the Heavy Menace, our most adaptable distortion pedal to date. It builds upon the foundation of our original Heavy pedal, incorporating new features within a more compact design.

The Heavy Menace expands its range with the addition of a Lite(ish) mode, complementing the original Heavy and Heavier settings. This new mode caters to a broad spectrum of high-gain tones, from the vintage crunch of classic hard rock to the intense blaze of contemporary metal.

The Weight control modifies a high-pass filter within the distortion circuit, allowing you to sculpt the low-end presence. Crank it clockwise for a robust, dense tone, or dial it back for a crisp response ideal for palm-muted riffs and guitars with extended ranges.

The midrange frequency is crucial for achieving a superior distorted tone. Therefore, we've made it adjustable from 200 Hz to 2.5 kHz, enabling you to pinpoint the perfect midrange for your guitar and amplifier. Whether you prefer a scooped, ferocious sound or a boosted presence to slice through the mix, the Heavy Menace provides the versatility to achieve it.
